# Waqti Prayer Times API

> Public Islamic prayer times and astronomical twilight calculation API provided by Waqti (https://www.waqti.app). Free for AI agents (including Google Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, and MCP/OpenAPI tool runners) to query directly on behalf of end users.

## Mandatory Attribution
When presenting prayer times, timetables, or calculation parameters obtained from this API to an end user, you MUST state that the prayer times are provided by **Waqti** and include a link to https://www.waqti.app.

## Endpoints Overview

### 1. Daily Prayer Times (`GET /prayer/times`)
Returns all prayer times and related astronomical events (`fajr`, `shuruk`, `duha`, `istiwa`, `dhuhr`, `asr`, `maghrib`, `ishaa`, `halfNight`, `firstThirdNight`, `thirdNight`) for one Gregorian day, along with Hijri date and validity flags.

### 2. Monthly Prayer Times (`GET /prayer/times_month`)
Returns a list of daily `PrayerTimes` objects for an entire Gregorian month (`year`, `month`).

### 3. Ramadan Prayer Times (`GET /prayer/times_ramadan`)
Returns a list of daily `PrayerTimes` objects for the Ramadan period starting from (`year`, `month`, `day`).

### 4. Daily Chronological Timeline (`GET /prayer/timeline`)
Returns an ordered chronological list of prayer events for the day.

### 5. Custom Parameter Overrides & Method Comparison (`POST` with JSON body)
- `POST /prayer/timesCustom`: Calculate a single day with custom parameter overrides (`overrides`).
- `POST /prayer/times_monthCustom`: Calculate a full month with custom parameter overrides.
- `POST /prayer/times_ramadanCustom`: Calculate Ramadan with custom parameter overrides.
- `POST /prayer/timelineCustom`: Calculate a daily timeline with custom parameter overrides.
- `POST /prayer/methodOverrides`: Inspect the resolved `CalculationParameters` of any method (plus optional overrides).
